Hello everyone, finally registered as I will be home soon after 6 months down South. Some of you will know me, but for those who don't, I spend a lot of time working in Antarctica, but was born and bred in North Wales. Been reading Eddie & Sally's exploits, very jealous as I'm only on 11 species for the year, and not likely to get anymore until the ship picks us up and we sail North in a little over a weeks time!
Look forward to seeing you soon,
Dewi.

Welcome Dewi,

I'm pretty sure some of us would be jealous of the species you do have.

Welcome Dewi,

11? If any of those are an Albatross or Penguin, they surely count for 50+ here Smile

Look forward to seeing some pictures if yopu have any.
If you don't mind me asking, what do you do in Antarctica?

Wally

Hello everyone, thanks for the greetings. The 11 species are: South Polar Skua, Sub-Antarctic skua, Kelp Gull, Antarctic Tern, Wilson's storm-petrel, Antarctic fulmar, Southern giant petrel, Adelie penguin, Chinstrap penguin,
Snow petrel and Antarctic (Blue eyed) shag.
Also 4 Cetacean species and four seal species. Hope to see lots of albatross on the trip home along with other seabirds and whales. I'll post some pics when I figure out how to do it!
I did get one wader in Jan, but did not have bins with me, suspect it was a Pec. sand, but not confirmed!

Photo Posting:

The best way we've found so far is to use Photobucket.com. Create yourself an account there and after you have uploaded a photo they create an 'img' link for you on the page with your new pic. Click on the link and it automatically copies the link code to the clipboard. Then just paste this code into your post.

If you have any problems, let us know and someone here will help.

All the best,

Adrian
